FRORIEP advised Raiffeisen Schweiz Genossenschaft on tax issues with regard to the sale of the shares in Vescore AG and its asset management to the acquiring Bank Vontobel. The asset management as one of the three pillars of Raiffeisen's business model (others are: retail banking and private banking) is represented with offices in St Gallen, Basel, Munich, Lausanne, Riga, Vienna and Zurich and is managing CHF 15 bn client assets. FRORIEP covered all tax aspects of the transaction (including preparing and filing of tax rulings) which was very complex as the asset management was subject to several former restructurings which were triggering blocking periods. FRORIEP's team was led by Dr Tobias F. Rohner, head of corporate tax.
