Julie Wynne panelist at the First International Conference of B Lawyers

16 June 2017

Froriep partner Julie Wynne will be a panelist at the First International Conference of B Lawyers organised by Sistema B which will take place on 19 and 20 June 2017 in Lima, Peru.

Sistema B is a partner organisation of B Lab and serves and supports the community of B Corps in Latin America, called Empresas B. B Lab is a nonprofit organisation that serves a global movement of people using business as a force for good. Its vision is that one day all companies compete not only to be the best in the world, but the Best for the World and as a result society will enjoy a more shared and durable prosperity.

B Lab drives this systemic change by:

1) Building a global community of Certified B Corporations who meet the highest standards of verified, overall social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability;

2) Promoting Mission Alignment using innovative corporate structures like the benefit corporation to align the interests of business with those of society and to help high impact businesses be built to last;

3) Helping tens of thousands of businesses, investors, and institutions Measure What Matters, by using the B Impact Assessment and B Analytics to manage their impact—and the impact of the businesses with whom they work—with as much rigor as their profits;

4) Inspiring millions to join the movement through story-telling on bthechange.com.

At the Conference, Julie Wynne will be speaking on 19 June 2017 on hybrid structures as a business model for organisations with a triple bottom line. Hybrid structures combine the structure and culture of for-profit companies with the commitment to social and environmental impact of non-profit organisations. This structure enables them to address social problems in an economically sustainable manner and to capitalise on consumer demand for responsibly-made products and services.
