Julie Wynne - Conference on the Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller and the Art of giving
22 March 2018
In hommage to the Rockefeller Estate's sale which will be held at Christie's in May 2018, Froriep and Christie's organise a conference on the Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller and the Art of giving on Monday 26 March 2018 at Froriep's Geneva office.
Christie’s has been selected as the global auction house for The Collection of David and Peggy Rockefeller. This vast collection will be offered for sale in May 2018 in New York City. The sales will be conducted in keeping with David Rockefeller’s pledge to direct the majority of his wealth to philanthropy and provide for the cultural, educational, medical, and environmental causes long supported by the couple. Gathered over a lifetime and handed down from previous generations, the collection reflects the Rockefeller family’s deep, life-long passion for Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works of art, American paintings, English and European furniture, Asian works of art, European ceramics and Chinese export porcelain, silver, and American decorative arts and furniture. Select highlights from the collection will tour in advance of the sales to Asia, Europe and within the United States, with exhibitions, art forums, and a robust programme of public and private client events.
Marie-Cécile Cisamolo, Junior Specialist, Christie's, will provide insights about the sale of the The Collection of David and Peggy Rockefeller and Julie Wynne, partner, Froriep, will present the Swiss legal framework applying to philanthropy through the arts.
