Sustainable Luxury | Breakfast Series | Webinar, 19 May 2020

FRORIEP is pleased to invite you to the third event of our sustainable luxury breakfast series on:

Sustainability, Ethics and Transparency in the Jewellery Industry

After an introduction by Hubert Orso Gilliéron (FRORIEP) on how businesses can collaborate efficiently at the industry level to improve the sustainability of their sector while not raising anti-competitive challenges, Diana Culillas, Secretary General of the Swiss Better Gold Association (SBGA), will give an outlook on the concerted efforts undertaken by Swiss players of the gold industry to adopt more socially inclusive and better environmental practices. In particular, Diana Culillas will discuss the Better Gold Initiative, a public-private partnership between the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and SBGA, on responsible extraction of artisanal and small-scale gold.

Then, Pauline Evequoz, Chopard‘s Sustainability Manager, will share how Chopard is addressing the social and environmental challenges that are inherent to the jewellery industry. In 2013, Chopard embarked on its Journey to Sustainable Luxury aiming to deepen its engagement in sustainable luxury, by sourcing from businesses with demonstrated ethical and responsible practices, and in line with environmental standards. Since July 2018, Chopard has committed to sourcing 100% ethical and responsibly sourced gold in the production of all its watches and jewellery.
